Julie Vu, 3 years post-op (MTF), talks about the struggles and regrets of post-op neovagina health

  • not using the neovagina sexually because it’s not pleasing
  • at times regretting surgery and missing having a penis
  • not dilating because it’s time consuming, painful, and expensive to purchase the lube and douche needed every single day
  • still bleeding 3 years post op
  • re-starting dilating after 4 months of not doing it, and how painful it is even after just one day missed (”Just the maintenance of it all… you really have to think about if it’s really, really worth it”)
  • “The maintenance and upkeep is like a Lamborghini – it’s annoying and expensive as fuck”

i’ve liked julie for longer than i’ve been a radical feminist and i feel like there’s always good information on julie’s channel and tbh not a lot of the queer trans brigade stuff we see elsewhere. the videos about transitioning, surgery, and general trans stuff are all pretty informative

She doesn’t sugar coat anything when it comes to SRS

I really hate how this surgery is oversold to people. 20% of the time there are problems from the start, and I’ve met more than one transwoman who went through a phase of depression and didn’t dilate for a few months – essentially wrecking $30k worth of surgery. Plus the the reality that ‘touch-ups’ are often needed every 10-15 years if you have penetrative sex, and on and on. A shocking number of post-op trans women just stop having sex and/or orgasms entirely. If your dysphoria is so painful that it’s necessary then get the best care you can find, including follow-up, but I just can’t stand the bullshit that people are told about this. Very few transwomen get this done, by the way, but it’s like they need and encourage someone else to go through with it just so they can use their existence to win arguments about ‘some transwomen have vaginas so you should accept all transwomen as sexual partners’ and so on.

Trans people deserve better information on how to live their best lives

Openness and honesty about bottom surgery can only help other trans people

this is why i am against bottom surgery.

also this is why i hate trenders trying to tell me that neovagina is same as actual vagina/neodick is same as actual dick.
