I hope this isnt a dumb question but i have heard some trans woman use tampons/pads anyway. Is that a real thing? Is that offensive to women who do have periods for trans women to pretend to have periods? I’m sorta having issues with the never gonna have a period/cant give birth thing. Thanks hope you are well!!

No way! Honestly I think it sounds like a pretty cool & healthy coping mechanism and I can pretty much promise you: nobody who menstruates is gonna accuse you of being a period-faker. If you wanna do it, do it.

Under the cut is a crash course on such things, so if you decide this is something to pursue, you are educated. “Feminine hygiene” aisles are kinda daunting.

genuine question, how is it mentally healthy to pretend that you are shedding your uterine lining when you aren’t?

@ asker, if you genuinely wanted to know if this was offensive to women who menstruate, you should have asked one. None of these mods are cis women. As a woman who menstruates, yes, this is offensive.

If you knew what it was like to have an actual period and the stigma that came with it, you wouldn’t want one. If you had any idea what being a woman was actually like, you’d know it isn’t anything like whatever it is you’re feeling. Real women don’t “feel like” women, we just are. Your womb envy does not make you one of us. This reeks of willful ignorance and it is wildly offensive. Why don’t you instead buy pads for girls who need them and don’t have access to them? It’s actually a necessity for them.

“Is it offensive to women to pretend I menstruate for my sexual fetish? Is it offensive to turn something that is used to abuse, humiliate and control women into some fake bullshit to pretend I’m a woman when I’m not?”

The answer is yes.

@ Anon, you know what? You’re right! It is offensive, especially considering the homeless women who can’t get pads or tampons — if these trans women were our sisters, they’d at least consider that and donate instead of fetishize.

And that’s on top of their womb envy and autogynephilia! They haven’t got wombs to bleed from, and they buy products for a bodily function they don’t even have in order to pretend they do!
