Much of ‘anti-ableist’ discourse is cluster Bs trying to vilify criticism and wrap their egos in bubble wrap. Hence claiming words like ‘idiot’ are slurs, and writing fakedeep posts about how we need to de-stigmatise…staying in bed all day. Class and age are also factors. Adolescents are more prone to catastrophic thinking, and the extremely swollen Western middle class is raised on a diet of individualistic navel-gazing. Hence also the pathological obsession with micro-identities and personal narratives.
