I cant believe some people have enough money to make major impacts on the world and they just….dont do it. wouldn’t you rather your legacy be the guy who saved the world rather than the guy who had an un-spendable amount of money and hoarded it all I mean we can probably rule out the notion that any one of those guys would give up their billions just out of the goodness of their hearts but I can’t believe the potential headline “multi billionaire donates wealth, single handedly ends poverty” doesn’t appeal to them in slightest 

Most rich people donate a shitton of money to charity every year for one. And you can’t just end poverty by throwing money at it, it’s a really naive thought process.

If Bill Gates split his money equally between everyone who works with Microsoft they’d all get an extra 10 dollars a year. Woopty doo.

People don’t realize that a billion dollars becomes much less when you redistribute it.

Bill Gates is worth 93 billion dollars. Microsoft has 124 thousand employees. 93,000,000,000/124,000 is $750,000. So, ya know. More than 10.

But forget net worth. Lets just look at profit. Bill Gates can keep his 93 billion and we will just split the profits moving forward. Last year, Microsoft made 21 billion in net profit. Split THAT even with all Microsoft employees and 21,000,000,000 / 124,000 = $169,354 for EVERY employee. So again. More then 10.
