full offense i think we as a society need to understand that some kids genuinely need to get shoved into a locker and told they’re not valid, cause we’ve got like. 30+ year olds on this fucking site obsessed with validity culture that should have gotten punched in middle school but didn’t and now they argue with 14 year olds about cartoons and call themselves queer elders because they’re into platonic choking

i think we as a society need to understand that some kids genuinely need to get shoved into a locker and told they’re not valid ]

No kid deserves to face physical abuse and bullying for the way they choose to identify. Certainly no child deserves to be bullied and physically abused for being open about their orientation and wanting validation and acceptance for it. The “call themselves queer elders because they’re into platonic” example is a straw man which you know very well does not exist, or certainly not on a scale to think that bullying people is ever acceptable.

Even if a child has problematic views or identifies in a way which isn’t actually true to themself there are much healthier ways to educate them than through physical violence and bullying, frankly there is no excuse for condoning it.

As a teacher, and as someone who has lost friends to suicide as a result of bullying, I really don’t think this is funny as a joke (if you meant it that way), nor making any point as a piece of satire (if you meant it that way). Again, there’s never an acceptable reason to condone violence against children nor bullying, nor is it ever funny as a joke or appropriate as a hyperbole.

this is so sad, alexa play “mad because you’re the exact kind of person im talking about, arent you?”

I’m not mad, I just don’t understand how you, or any of the people reblogging this from you uncritically, can think it’s remotely okay to condone bullying and physical violence against children, even as a joke. It’s not really something to laugh about?

If you want to talk about the “harmfulness of validity culture”, go ahead. But there’s really no appropriate reason to say “kids need to be shoved into lockers” or “should have gotten punched”.

probably because that’s not what it’s doing dude

it is. mind-blowing. to me that instead of focusing on what the point is. looking at my other responses and actual explanation. you continue to hyperfocus on a satirical, hyperbolic statement, whereas plenty of other people clearly saw past the jokey part to my point, which i will, once again, repeat:

validity culture is stupid and toxic and encourages people to never think critically about theirs and other’s behavior, leading to people actively harming themselves and others, as well as leading to entitled, hypersensitive, never-learned-how-to-interact-with-others assholes throwing tantrums at 30+ years old when you tell them to think critically instead of blindly encouraging harmful/ahistorical/just plain gross shit.

its not that serious yall are so sensitive omg ur the exact kind of ppl this post was talking abt
