what does “shaking” kids even mean? is it literal? i feel so dumb smh

You are so much larger than a child even the weakest adult can lift a small child by the shoulders and shake them until they’re concussed. The human brain is very fragile and moving a still growing one with any amount of force that will send it ricocheting off the inside of their skulls will cause permanent damage. It’s why Shaken Baby Syndrome is a thing that can kill children and will put anyone caught doing it in prison and they’ll never be allowed near children unsupervised ever again.
