this is what I rly despise about the “it’s not my job to educate you!” crowd. you can’t move the goalposts every six months and then shun everyone who isn’t Online for not knowing the up to the minute acceptable word salad and expect ppl to respect your movement
They say it’s not their job to educate you when you don’t understand their wacky ass ideology then scream at you to be educated. Okay, from who, then?
hibgc: my school had a trans protest a few years ago and a local older woman saw. she asked a student in the back something like “are they crossdressers?” (and she wasn’t jeering or anything, she just didn’t know what trans meant) and the trans woman who was leading the protest heard somehow and immediately called her out ON THE MEGAPHONE and got EVERYONE to chant ‘shame, shame, shame’ until she walked away. i felt so bad and embarrassed for this poor woman who literally just did not know.
