it’s so bizarre but in 1500s England and other parts of Europe a torture device called the scold’s bridle aka brank was used to silence women who were considered “common scolds” basically women who were considered bitches gossips and loudmouths and when you were wearing this thing u couldn’t talk or eat or your tongue would be pierced and you would bleed to death.. and some of these branks look like those stupid BDSM devices not to shove feminism up all your asses but like that bondage stuff has actual precedent in real torture devices that’s rly fuckin creepy. so when a guy calls you a shrill bitch and tells you to stfu be like fuk u can’t shove a brank in my mouth anymore ur getting curb stomped biatch
