this post bothers me a lot because the victorian era is 1837 – 1901, and wigs were not a huge deal then. after the french revolution wigs became unfashionable. marie antoinette died over 40 years before the start of the victorian era. wigs were so terribly outmoded that victoria’s aunt, queen consort adelaide, once sent her a letter making fun of victoria’s eldest daughter for wearing a wig ONCE. you gays are in need of some fashion history lessons
