If you look up symptoms of ASD specific to girls one of them is frequently “masculine behavior/dress” or whatever and people love to blame that on autism being an “extreme male brain” but it’s really very easily explained when you consider what femininity is: a set of implicit social rules forced on women. Like, of course autistic girls and women aren’t going to be as successful at performing femininity “correctly.” It doesn’t have to do with the fictitious male brain. It has to do with femininity being inaccessible to people who have difficulty navigating complex and arbitrary social conventions.

a few years ago i had a friend who i created this like….entire mcr alternate universe with where frank, mikey, and ray were brothers aged 2, 7, and 12, brian was their dad, and gerard was like their hot teenage babysitter or something. frank went by “baby frnk”, HATED ray, had a youtube beauty channel, was madly in love with gerard, and talked major shit; i have NO idea what was going on with mikey; ray could not read despite being in 6th grade, was referred to exclusively as “papi” by mikey, his middle name was motor (???), he used the phrase “ayy lmao” in almost every sentence, and was some kind of sexual deviant. tana mongeau was an occasional guest star. i can’t explain any of this. this was all written out over text but i would copy and paste the highlights into a google doc, so here’s a few choice passages. forgive me for how deeply problematic it is, i just have legitimately over 20,000 words of this and i just really needed to, like, share this with someone, thank u
