Sex should never be a job. It should never be a job to let a stranger invade your body, or have the power of their money compel you to do things you wouldn’t do freely. Sex should only ever be done without any influence of any type of power, and money is a type of power.
Sex is not a necessity. It is not even a luxury. It is an intimate experience between two people. Money degrades that intimacy.
You say this but what about the people who like their jobs as sex workers? The people who take pride in their work and enjoy it and the money that comes in. Sex is a luxury and that’s why people want it enough to be willing to pay others for it. It’s not an invasion if you’re on equal terms, it’s not an invasion of there was consent.
Yes it’s intimate and between someone you love nothing can compare but money isn’t involved at that point and sex workers aren’t out there trying to fall in love.
And when you really boil it down sex IS about power, wether it be sharing it equally with someone you love, or the exchanging power because it is such an intimate thing.
And come on, in a world where sex work is already so hated on why just add to it. You’re not helping your fellow women and putting sex work down is damaging and potentially dangerous to people in those jobs.
Consent can’t be bought. True consent has to be given freely, and if you purchase the consent, that is not freely given consent. Money makes people do things they don’t want to do. If you have to pay somebody to do something, that’s because they don’t actually want to be doing it.
Healthy sex is not about power, rape is about power.
I am against the sex industry because I support the women who have survived it and speak out against it.
People say they love their jobs even when they don’t when it’s their meal ticket, because if they said they hated their jobs, how would people treat them then?
