I was wondering about your views on the NoFap portion of Reddit? I know they’re not quitting porn for the right reasons, since they’re doing it to benefit themselves and not prevent harm to women, but isn’t it good that we have a community of men trying to quit porn to begin with?

I’m happy whenever anyone swears off watching porn. But what I know for sure is that these men would be watching porn in 0.0001 seconds if porn didint effect their ability to get erections. And as much as I am happy these men are not actively using porn, I can’t help but think of their reason why they are doing it.

tbh I find it really bizarre that they view masturbation as inextricably tied to watching pornography and like… genuinely cannot seem to imagine getting off without porn so they have to go full celibate until they get a gf or whatever lol

It is really weird but I think that’s what happens with porn addiction…it just becomes part of their sexuality.
