- Don’t beat yourself up about not always exercising as much as you should
- Not everyone drinks or goes out or has a fake and it’s ok to not want to
- VISIT YOUR TA AND PROFESSOR AT OFFICE HOURS! they’re not that scary and when they recognize you it’s the best feeling
- Invest in a sturdy and comfortable pair of shoes/sandals
- Talk to that crush… you never know what’s going to happen
- Dropping a class is NOT the end of the world, it may be the best step for you
- If your campus has shitty drainage (hello umd) don’t wear converse the day it pours!! invest in rain boots!!
- Don’t smoke in your dorm, ever
- Try to check out books from the hundreds of libraries on campus
- Make sure you figure out housing arrangements for next year well before the deadline
- Join a club! or two! but don’t feel pressured to stay in them if you’re having trouble managing time or you’re just not feeling it anymore
- Talking to your advisor may be stressful but they were hired to help you
- You may feel like you’ve found your forever friend group but people will still come and go in your life
- Say hi and thank the dorm housekeeper sometime, or every time
- Climb a few buildings, sneak into a few places but have at least one sober person with you
- Form study groups and utilize technology like GroupMe and Google Docs to work together
- Don’t publish your entire life on instagram or snapchat… and obviously be careful what you put online
- on that note, try not to use your phone when you’re drunk – you will snapchatting or texting regrets in the morning
- Go outside during finals, sunshine helps
- Taking notes then rewriting them into a more clear and concise version is effective for studying but definitely not the only way to study
