can anyone give me specifics on how ‘cis’ women have privilege over trans women?
I can safely use the restroom of my gender without the fear of being harassed or ridiculed.
cis women have been harrassed out of women’s bathrooms for being gnc/male looking, just like transwomen have. except cis women genuinely have a right to be there.
How often does that happen though? Are there any statistics on that? And any one identifying as a woman has a right to be there. By that logic intersex people don’t have as much of a right as stereotypically female individuals.
i don’t have statistic on it, no but it does happen unfortunately. cis men who are gnc/feminine presenting have also been harrassed from men’s bathrooms. anyone who deviates from what a typical male/female looks like will most likely have difficuluties in public bathrooms.
also, intersex people are still male or female, they aren’t some mysterious third sex so yeah intersex females have a right to be in the women’s bathroom.
Without a statistic it’s kind of hard to believe that particular situations happens more than trans people being harassed – which is a well documented phenomenon
even so, this one partcular point doesn’t automatically prove that cis women have “cis privilege”
Except it literally does. It’s one privilege we have. Where is the confusion?
to claim that cis women (who are already a marginalized/oppressed class) have privilege over an entire other social class, you need more then just one point. do you have any other examples?
I mean it’s funny how they want sources and stats but refuse to provide any to prove their point? And then their friend in the notes saying TW are raped and murdered more than women when that has been debunked over and over again. 😪
Another good example of “cis privilege” we have is that we can walk outside at night without fear of being assaulted or kidnapped!
We have the freedom of wearing whatever we want at school! No girl ever gets in trouble for idk, wearing a skirt or going braless!
Ok no one ever wants to control our bodies. That IS cis privilege! Abortion is legal, every girl talks freely about her period, feminine hygiene products are available for every woman worldwide, no one tries to shut girls or keep them out of their home and their school when they’re menstruating, all women get to keep their genitals intact for life!
No one aborts their child when they know they have a baby girl coming! No one kills baby girls and throw them in the garbage!
Femicide isn’t a thing! Male violence isn’t a thing!
Anyways we’re drowning in privilege, so lets fight for the rights of men in skirts to go to the little girls room!
No but srsly using restrooms as an example of cis privilege is funny bc actual women are assaulted in them no matter what they look like e.e;;
