Let me tell you something, notice how “masculine” clothing is practical and natural. No performativeness there. Not talking about behaviour, just natural comfortable clothes.
also notice how “"femininity”“ is fully about performing. It’s shallow. Full of pretending. That’s why women don’t shave their body hair when no one is around. That’s why women don’t put on makeup in their homes. That’s why women don’t wear bras in home or with people they’re comfortable with. That’s why women don’t wear tight uncomfortable clothes or platform heels alone. It is completely about erasing your natural features and force the unfortunate people who must perform (women) it to adhere to stupid and impractical behaviours to be available for objectification for the male gaze. Gender roles are invented and forced to limit and stupify women. The ultimate femininity is achieved through thousands of hours of “bimbofication”, plastic surgeries and of course, determination. Women focus on this. Spend hour after hours making sure they’re completely hairless with utmost flawless skin, enchanced beautified features, etc etc… While men put on jeans and get it over with. I’m not saying men don’t have bodily stereotypes, but theirs is just to be big buff and healthy, assertive and strong while for women it is, frail, delicate, fragile, weak, taking as little space as possible, look like an extremely beautiful lifeless doll, behave, submit, obey, and most importantly to look as beautiful as possible, talking as little as possible. Do you really think women are born like that? With an innate desire to put on pink nailpolish? To only wear frilly floral dresses with heels? To spend thousands of time on their hair makeup and removing body hair? If you really insist these are all “your choice” you are stupid. Who is the corporate leader of sephora? A white man. Who is the corporate leader of these companies?

Socialisation, plays a damn role in this. It’s not shameful to admit it that society have brainwashed you. And no, i’m not “misogynistic” because i criticise femininity or makeup. I have made myself believe that it was MY CHOICE to PROUDLY put on eyeliner and harsh chemicals (foundation) on literally everyday. That’s why i starved myself for months, it was MY CHOICE isn’t it? It really isn’t, my life improved so much when i finally admitted it wasn’t. Your “nobody is putting a gun in your head” argument is invalid. The gun isn’t material, it’s the isolation and dissaproval people face for the consequences of their actions of not appeasing to society. These companies as capitalism always does, profit from your insecurities and brainwashing by society. You can unlearn your socialisation. Nobody goes and gets a usually failing surgery for purely cosmetic purposes because “they chose it”. It is brainwashing.
“Makeup feminismmm UWU” is not feminism. It isn’t empowering. It doesn’t challenge the status quo. It enforces it. If you want to be free, stop caring about what people say about your body. Your face or beauty. Beauty is irrelevant. Yes you feel good when you see yourself as a “pretty kween”, this is still your socialisation. If you were to be stuck in a natural disaster or a famine, your beauty wouldn’t matter.
Your beauty doesn’t inherently contribute to your happiness.
Your beauty doesn’t contribute to your worth.
It is patriarchal to think you have to be beautiful to be happy.
