My dudes who still don’t understand that catcalling doesn’t work, imagine that everyone is a possible murdering psycopath and you don’t know who is and who isn’t and someone you don’t know grabs your arm or follows you down the street, ya that’s where my head is when I’m alone and you are catcalling me.

They don’t care that catcalling harassment doesn’t work. They know it doesn’t work. They’ve BEEN known. 

They know they have the ability to say and do whatever they want to women without having their fucking lights knocked out. And so they do it. 

They want to embarrass us. They want to make us uncomfortable because they don’t fear getting curb-stomped and knocked unconscious the same way they would if they spoke to their boys the way they speak to us.

STOP this fucking narrative that men harass us because their poor wittle selves never learned how to speak properly to women, or because they just don’t have the social capacity to know what they do is creepy or doesn’t “work”. They’re well aware and they’ve been aware since they saw their dad/brother/cousin/uncle/friends do it without it “working”, but they sure as hell liked the fact that they could say disgusting shit to women and not have us react back out of fear.

Exactly, they KNOW, that is the entire point, they aren’t trying to pick you up they are trying to intimidate you and put you in your place. It’s an ego trip. I’ve seen men laugh their ass off after following me when they saw I was scared. That is the point. It’s not naive seduction. Men aren’t exploiting and hurting women by accident. Street harassment ? They’ve been doing for centuries.There’s a purpose, it is beneficial for men to keep women in a state of fear. That is male terrorism. That is captivity. 

Men know what they do and they love reminding us that they view us as public property, and our bodies are there to be judged and commented on. They love scaring us and reminding us of our place and know they’re not gonna get a date or phone number out of it, it’s all about intimidation
