I’m also screaming at the idea that women are allowed to express our emotions. Like if we cry or act distressed, we get labeled as hysterical. If we get angry, we’re a bitch. Hell, if you’re in a medical setting as a woman and express distress over whatever issue you have, you’ve just increased your chances of not being taken seriously and being slapped with the wrong diagnosis because you’ll be labeled as a crybaby imagining your pain. There’s even times where women’s positive emotional expression is policed. So like spare me the ‘but boys aren’t allowed to cry’ bullshit. Personally when I was growing up, I’d get screamed at for crying at inappropriate times, and last time I checked, I was a woman, unfortunately.
