Community treatment of lesbian identity is so weird. There an air around the word “lesbian” that implies that its “uncool”, “outdated”, “restrictive”, and “regressive”. Butches and butch identity are demonized until someone wants to make it into a cutesy tomboy aesthetic. Femme and femme invisibility is just completely separated from lesbian and people love to take it as ~queer femininity~ high heels and eyeliner so sharp is can kill a man. We have people saying that “lesbian is an umbrella term” when literally. no it isn’t lmao you either are or aren’t a lesbian oh alright. Its frustrating how even the one word to define my specific sexuality is something people are trying to take away to make it “more inclusive” and hh im tired.
