The thing is, I’m not anti-genuine trans rights. Trans people shouldn’t have to worry that they will be denied work, healthcare, rights to their own children, or basic physical safety (among other things) because of their identity. I just don’t think trans rights need to come at the expense of female rights like female-exclusive spaces and sex-based legal protections and the lesbian right to our own community and terminology and the freedom to say no to sex with male-bodied people on the basis of their sex without being called nasty names
Non-radfems need to understand this. They need to realize that majority of Radfems do give a shit about legitimate transgender people’s concerns, like safety and other basic human rights, but what really grinds radfem’s gears is how transgender and other genderist politics steam roll women and lesbian spaces and rights! If trans issues and female/lesbian issues we’re addressed separately, and not trying to be crammed together like apples and oranges, there wouldn’t be a problem. This is one of the reasons calling transwomen “women” is just so wrong, and trans folks who had any sense and desires for their own rights would know that they need to start their own movement instead of trying to monopolize and invade feminism.
