Not when fucking Ramadan is. Not in the summer. And also not even outdoors. She’s draped in ten pounds of black fabric, running at a full sprint. Do you know how easy it’d be for her to overheat? I’ve overheated several times, to the point where I’ve fainted and my lips have turned blue in need of oxygen. It’s fucking terrifying. And I wasn’t even covered head to toe like she is, much less running while covered like she is. No woman should have to risk her life while trying to compete just because of her oppressive religion. And no one should be fucking celebrating it either.

Think about how much hot this must be for her to run like that, how unfair it is for her compared to the other women in that competition. If you believe in the values of feminism you must criticise the use of the veil/hijab to hide the bodies of women. This woman’s body is not inherently a source of uncontrollable lust and one of the core values of sport is equality. This picture only shows patriarchy at work.
