I’m fairly certain the primary reason that Chick-fil-A customer service far surpasses that of McDonald’s or most other fast food chains is staffing numbers. Go into your local McDonald’s and there’s maybe two registers open with people at them, another two people at drive-through, and maybe a few in the back.
Go to your average Chick-fil-A and there’s four registers open with people at them, another two or three people that are just doing the bagging, a few more people that are doing drinks, three people at drive-through, maybe 10 in the back, and on very busy days three or four out in the parking lot with iPads taking orders in the drive-through. When you have like 20-25 people each doing one little job, things tend to run smoother than when it’s 4-6 people expected to do 100 things at once.
