remember when terfs were shocked I was happy women’s colleges started accepting trans women and that shitty music festival in Michigan finally stopped?
If it was so shitty, why did you lot want to go so badly?
Rather than make your own, you destroyed someone else’s’ festival. That isn’t anything to be proud of; it’s the adult equivalent of kicking someone’s sandcastle because it’s nicer than yours.
But okay. You’ve colonized spaces that were created to provide females with an education (because they were denied access to higher education — which trans women never were, fyi) and destroyed a festival.
You know what we have? And that you can’t borrow, colonize or destroy?
Our history, our legacies, and — most importantly — the knowledge that in fifty years, you lot will be looked at like lobotomies, and we will still be here:
Women.
You, on the other hand, will always be a man.
No wonder you’re upset.
Because it was in my fucking backyard in Michigan. You all came into West Michigan, I didn’t come to you. I’m a woman sweetie, I’m not upset, I’m stoked there’s not a bunch of shitty people coming into my home state that never gave anything back to West Michigan. I have family members who don’t have access to clean drinking water just miles away from your ex shitty festival was, that you claim gives so much back to the community. Fuck you and every other person who comes into Michigan to enjoy how beautiful it is without giving anything back. You being anti trans is only one of my issues, leaving my home state trashed is about at the same level
I don’t lie. This photo completely has to do with Michfest, its the same with every big festival that comes into our state. You give nothing back to the community and trash our natural beauty. You think it has no impact on people from Michigan but honestly it does. How do you think it feels seeing out of towners come into town without spending a cent in our local economy and many of us don’t have access to clean drinking water. Here’s a list of cities in Michigan that you cannot drink the water because of poor water quality
Flint
Bay City
Kalamazoo
Allegan
Belmont
Howard City
Parchment
Cannonsburg
Cooper township
Kalamazoo
Rockford
Grand Rapids Charter Township
If you’re not from Michigan clearly you don’t think trashing our land is impacting anyone because you literally don’t live the same lives we do.
all of your credibility was lost when you basically tried to say the posted photo was from michfest. either be honest or don’t.
the flint water crisis has nothing to do with radical feminism and everything to do with institutionalized racism you idiot
First of all, the Festival wasn’t held in or near any of those cities, so I’m not sure what that has to do with festival.
Second, the Festival was such a boon to the local economy that it actually kept open a local post office that was doomed to be closed. And to tell you the kind of person Lisa Vogel is, she would send mail by USPS that she could have sent electronically to make sure that business kept flowing. She worked with local vendors on everything she could: from apple cider donuts, to hay, to firewood. She paid a local farmer for using his barn to store Festival furniture. The festival created a financial ecosystem as well as international dyke culture.
Third, the Land is home to the headwaters of important tributaries that eventually feed into the Mississippi. Lisa once again insisted on using biodegradable products so that those water sources could remain untainted. The Land is now part of the Western Michigan Land Trust.
As my people say, you a lie.
And really, if someone is willing to make up such transparent and easily debunked bullshit just imagine the types of lies they are willing to tell themselves.
