This is actually a good thing do boomers hate this for some reason?
They think waking early and getting your day started is a good thing.
I agree but iirc high schools who start later have better grades and graduation rates because teenagers need more sleep than all the other age groups
Im not disagreeing. They just think kids should function the same way as an adult going to his first shift at 5 am.
School is supposed to prepare you for the real world and lemme tell ya, getting up at 3am for a long day of work is a common thing.
Single moms do it. Farm families do it. Military personnel and often their families do it. The world is not a soft and comfortable place. Raising soft and comfortable kids is foolishness. The smaller communities have their shit together- all classes start at the same time and end at the same time. Staggered start only became a thing when budgeting for buses was an issue. Small school districts don’t spend their money on hauling kids, they spend their money on raising and educating them.
In other news, California votes to have all businesses start at 0830, so that adults can have much needed rest.
Also, no one has to work during the summer, weekends and an additional 2 weeks off during Christmas and a week off during Easter.
Yes, because growing teenagers who require more sleep than almost every other age group and naturally get tired later are the exact same as fully grown adults. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to not even see a difference in these two? It’s literally shown that high schoolers do better when school starts later, you’re just too busy being some dumb Boomer who probably parrots the “I did it and I’m fine!” nonsense but now you’re incapable of rational thought so you’re not fine.
You are all fucking annoying. High schoolers are just that, in high school. They are not single moms or military personnel. I swear people on here are cranky just for the fuck of it.
Boomers are why I don’t want to live forever. Imagine getting to enjoy the entire world evolving around you at a breakneck pace and instead of enjoying it and seeking to create a better world, you act like a fucking asshole all the time and ramble about some hellscape ‘real world’ and mire yourself and everyone you can get your grubby fingers on in a pit of misery.
There’s also the fact teenagers are at school to actively learn information, not to perform tasks in a workplace – that itself uses quite a lot more brain power and needs more concentration.
