A big Swedish feminist Instagram account just observed the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation by writing “stop the mutilation of vaginas” and “more than 2 million vagina bearers in the ages 4 to 11 are subjected to genital mutilation every year”. I think it’s one of the most disrespectful and offensive things I’ve seen from liberal feminists in quite a while. Girls are subjected to female genital mutilation as a part of the oppression of women and patriarchy’s attempt to control women’s bodies. To dehumanize children to “vagina bearers” is in truth anti-feminist.
