One of the most annoying criticisms I get in regards to my opinions on the non binary issue is that i just don’t “get it”. As a man who is often read as gender non conforming, I get it. What I don’t get or accept is the way the queer community gives special pardons to men who identify as non binary. I know women who have been abused by men who identify as non binary. These women have been scared to speak out in case they get labelled terfs. These men have been supported by the “queer” community when they call these women their abusers and launch hate campaigns against them.

When labels exempt people from criticism theres absolutely a problem. This new progressive language stops us from talking about how sexual assault is a male problem that stems from male socialisation…and that’s a major problem. Because once said Male doesn’t identify as such the topic becomes null and void.

I don’t care how men identify, male violence is male violence and I’ll call it when I see it. Your pronouns do not cover your violence.

obviously aside from the blatant misogyny of it all I think my biggest issue with the widespread acceptance of violent threats against terfs is that i just really fail to see how it helps trans people in any way? Like I think it piggybacks off of all the “punch nazis” and “good night white pride” sentiments but those are all about deplatforming and making them scared to express their opinions in public. Terfs just don’t have that kind of platform nor does any of our rhetoric (on a collective level) call for actual harm or violence towards trans people. Screaming about how much you want to punch a woman for speaking out about her oppression does not make her want to sympathize with you or your struggles, nor does it do anything to help solve any of your problems (and no, terfs are not a part of any actually oppressive force against trans people.)
