I want to use this opportunity to discuss how Sasha Grey is a victim/survivor of sex trafficking. 

Now an ex porn star, Grey says that she was lured into porn by her abusive ex-boyfriend. Her ex had told her he was a CIA spy and had abused her physically and sexually starting when she was 16 and he was 29. So not only was she a victim/survivor of sex trafficking and pimping, but of CHILD sex trafficking and sexual violence against children. 

The ex’s name is Ian Cinnamon, and Grey broke up with him in 2012 and quit porn. She has since gotten a court restraining order against him due to continuous harassment, including him sending her pictures of himself holding handguns. 

So, liberal feminists can stop using Sasha Grey (her real name is Marina Hantzis) as justification for supporting the porn industry as somehow “empowering for women”. Stop pretending that rape, coercion, and other forms of violence don’t regularly occur in this industry. Stop getting off to it. Stop getting off to women being raped. Rape & porn culture needs to die. Violence against women needs to stop.

As much as I love Redkatherinee’s pieces, I feel like people would not have taken it so personally to the point of abusing her if she like….lazily edited a political cartoon to portray the same message. It’s the fact that she clearly puts a lot of effort into her art that truly bugs people, as much as they want to claim it’s because she Literally Murders Trons Pople by producing content. Hell, I don’t think anyone would have responded if she drew it sloppily in MS Paint.

I’d pin at least 25% of it to being so. The Steven Universe piece she drew (the one with the Pearls and the Diamonds) had 45k+ notes, according to the cached version of the page on 8/22.

The worst part of Pride each year is riding the subway late at night and seeing the gay guys, mostly the ones riding by themselves, slowly take off their rainbow stickers and beads and what-not in preparation for their walk alone in their neighborhood, doing their best to prevent the off-chance of being jumped. I saw one guy with a flag in his bag turn it upside down so it wouldn’t poke out.

So yeah, fuck that heterosexual pride day nonsense.

This is the saddest god damn thing I’ve read in awhile, mostly because I literally remember peeling my stickers off on my way home too for this reason 

Two years ago in Budapest the organizers didn’t let anyone leave the place until we dropped all the rainbow flags into the trash cans and popped out the balloons, because people were waiting outside the cordons to get and beat us. Sadly the situation was so bad that even without the flags, we couldn’t leave for a good two hours after the event anyway. There were hundreds of people just waiting to be able to get home safely, but we simply couldn’t walk out of the place because of those assholes.
In the end, the police made us leave in smaller groups via subway. They closed down the stations closest to ours, so we could avoid running into the people waiting us outside.
This was in Budapest, in Europe, 2014. I hate this world we live in.

And this is why #heterosexualpride makes me so angry.

I know this kid who was leaving Pride, trying so badly to rub off the rainbow paint on his cheek because his dad was abusive and didn’t know he was gay or at pride. I was on the bus with him and he was close to tears, he cheek red, and I had my make up bag and there was a packet of wet wipes, so I went up and sat next to him and helped him rub it off. We’ve been best friends ever since.

Heterosexual pride my ass

This is so fucking important. There are way too many human beings that are so ashamed of who they are because people just can’t accept diversity and it’s so sad. you can’t be fucking butt hurt when people celebrate minorities and people that have been suppressed, rather than groups that are wildly accepted and loved. Don’t try and take away from someone’s fucking happiness. Check. Your. Fucking. Privilege.

No offense but everyday is heterosexual pride day cause there is no one telling you guys that your way of like is wrong. So please just give us one month to be ourselves and celebrate diversity.

whats really appalling is buzzfeed’s article on the trans axe murderer. they literally painted her as an anguished victim who totally blacked out and couldnt believe that she was capable of being violent. meanwhile the reality is that he went on a tinder date, she rejected him cause he was a man and she was a lesbian, and he sent a friend messages about how some people deserve to die and literally TOLD THE DATE ‘a lot of people are gonna die and its gonna be your fault’

this literally sounds like a fucking incel murder. also the article that included the actual details literally started with talking about his high academic achievements and ‘privileged upbringing’, and stressed throughout the whole article that he was very mentally ill and depressed etc etc

this is the exact same way the media treats murderers / rapists / etc who are white and male. because the gigantic majority of violent trans women are also white and male. and people still defend this.
